A downtown Charleston venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Union Station is a private wedding and event venue on King Street for ceremonies, receptions, and wedding weekend gatherings in downtown Charleston.

The space is flexible, practical, and easy to make your own, with an open floor plan, built-in bar, included tables, chairs, and standard bar glassware, plus adjacent paid city parking. Catering and bar service are handled in-house by a Charleston team that knows weddings, venues, timing, service, and the details that make the day feel well cared for.

A downtown location your guests will appreciate.

Downtown Charleston is a natural fit for a wedding weekend. Guests are often already staying nearby, exploring King Street, walking to restaurants, or meeting up before and after the event.

Union Station is located at 652-A King Street, close to hotels, restaurants, bars, and the rest of the weekend. For guests staying downtown, the venue is easy to work into the day. For guests driving in, adjacent paid city parking is available next to the venue.

Parking may not be the most romantic part of wedding planning, but anyone who has hosted an event downtown knows how much it matters. It gives your guests a more convenient way to arrive, leave, and enjoy the evening without having to circle for a spot several blocks away.

A flexible space you can make your own.

Union Station is not a traditional Charleston ballroom or historic estate, and it is not trying to be. It is an open, flexible downtown space for couples who want room to shape the wedding around their guest count, layout, vendors, and style.

The main event space works well for ceremonies, seated dinners, cocktail-style receptions, dancing, and the natural movement of the evening. The built-in bar gives the room a strong focal point, and the functional garage doors can bring in natural light or fresh air when the weather allows, without making your event dependent on an outdoor rain plan.

You can keep the setup simple or bring in florals, lighting, draping, lounge furniture, signage, rentals, and personal details to create the look you want.

Union Station can host up to 125 guests for a seated dinner and 200 guests cocktail-style.

The essentials are already included.

One of the biggest benefits of Union Station is that the core rentals are already part of the venue.

Your rental includes 200 natural wood Chiavari chairs, 15 sixty-inch round tables, and standard bar glassware. For many couples, that can mean real savings compared with venues where tables, chairs, and bar pieces all need to be rented separately.

You may still choose to bring in specialty rentals if you want a different look, but you are not starting from zero. The basics are already here, which can help your budget go further.

Not your average wedding food.

Food and bar service are handled by Rosemary & Rye, the Charleston catering team behind Union Station.

Weddings are a major part of what Rosemary & Rye does. Our team works inside venues across Charleston and the Lowcountry every week, so we understand the timing, staffing, service flow, vendor coordination, and details that make a wedding feel smooth for guests, vendors, and the couple.

Your menu can be shaped around the kind of wedding you are planning. That might mean passed hors d’oeuvres, stations, a seated dinner, late-night bites, desserts, or a more casual food setup depending on the format.

Bar service can also be built around the celebration, from beer and wine to full bar service, signature cocktails, and zero-proof drinks.

A welcoming space for every couple.

Union Station and Rosemary & Rye are proud to support weddings for all couples.

We believe every couple deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and celebrated throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. LGBTQ+ weddings, nontraditional celebrations, blended families, second weddings, intimate gatherings, big parties, and weddings that do not follow the usual script are all welcome here.

Our job is not to tell you what your wedding should look like. It is to help create a space where the people you love can gather, celebrate, eat well, and feel cared for.

Space for the day to flow.

A wedding needs more than a room for dinner. There are people getting ready, vendors arriving, personal items to store, family members gathering, and quiet moments that need somewhere to happen.

Union Station includes the main event space, built-in bar, upstairs lounge, and catering prep space.

The upstairs lounge can be used as a getting-ready room, a quiet space before the ceremony, a vendor room, a green room for entertainment, or whatever makes the most sense for your day. It also gives you additional space away from the main room, which can help the event feel more organized.

Built with weddings and vendors in mind.

Union Station is operated by a team that works weddings all the time.

Rosemary & Rye has catered weddings in venues across the Lowcountry, from historic homes and ballrooms to tents, estates, private properties, and downtown spaces. That experience matters because we have seen what makes a wedding day easier, and what makes it harder than it needs to be.

Union Station was shaped with that in mind: a downtown location, a flexible room, built-in bar, included rentals, nearby parking, food and bar handled by one experienced team, and enough room for vendors to do their jobs well.

It is not about making every wedding look the same. It is about giving couples and vendors a practical, flexible starting point in a location people want.
