You have the flexibility to shape the room around the celebration, without squeezing into a shared restaurant space or turning your own home into the venue.

Hosting at home can feel personal, but it also comes with a lot of work. Cleaning before guests arrive. Setting up tables and chairs. Managing food, drinks, trash, bathrooms, parking, and the flow of the night. Then cleaning it all up when everyone leaves.

Union Station gives you the privacy and warmth of hosting your own gathering, with the support of a team that handles events every day.

You can still make the celebration feel personal. You just do not have to carry every piece of it yourself.

A flexible space for private events.

Every private event has its own rhythm. Some are centered around a seated meal. Some are more casual, with cocktails, stations, and mingling. Some need space for a toast, a dessert table, a slideshow, music, dancing, or a few special moments throughout the night.

Union Station can host up to 125 guests for a seated dinner and 200 guests cocktail-style. For smaller gatherings, the front bar area works well for groups of 30 or fewer. It gives smaller events a more comfortable setting without making the room feel too large for the guest count.

Food and bar service are handled by Rosemary & Rye, which keeps the planning process simpler for private events.

Your menu can be shaped around the style of the celebration. That might mean passed hors d’oeuvres, stations, a seated dinner, a buffet-style meal, desserts, late-night bites, or a more casual food setup depending on the event.

Bar service can also be built around the gathering, from beer and wine to full bar service, signature cocktails, and zero-proof drinks.

For smaller or more casual events, Rosemary & Rye Provisions may also be a good fit for simple online catering options like sandwich platters, salads, boards, sweets, and buffet-style meals.

Union Station gives you a strong starting point without locking you into one kind of event.

The venue includes the main event space, built-in bar, and upstairs lounge. The rental also includes 200 natural wood Chiavari chairs, 15 sixty-inch round tables, and standard bar glassware.

You can keep the setup simple, or bring in outside vendors for florals, entertainment, specialty rentals, photography, decor, and other event details. Our team can also share vendor recommendations if you need help finding the right fit.

Union Station is located at 652-A King Street in downtown Charleston, close to hotels, restaurants, bars, and local businesses.

For guests staying downtown, the venue is easy to include in the rest of the evening. For guests driving in, adjacent paid city parking is available next to the venue, giving guests a convenient and safe parking option in downtown Charleston.
