A downtown Charleston venue for fundraisers, donor events, and community gatherings.
Union Station is a private event venue on King Street for nonprofit fundraisers, donor appreciation events, sponsor gatherings, ticketed events, community celebrations, and mission-centered programs.
With a flexible open floor plan, built-in bar, in-house catering and bar service, included tables and chairs, and adjacent paid city parking, the space gives your organization room to gather people around the work that matters.
Bring your community together.
Nonprofit and community events carry more than a guest list. There is usually a message, a mission, a program, a fundraising goal, and a group of people who need to feel connected to the reason they are there.
Union Station gives you a central downtown space that can support the flow of the event without making the planning process harder than it needs to be.
The room can be shaped around the kind of gathering you are hosting, whether that means check-in and cocktail hour, a seated program, sponsor recognition, auction displays, dinner, drinks, dancing, or a more casual community reception.
Built for more than dinner and drinks.
A good nonprofit event needs the room to work in several ways at once. Guests need to arrive easily. Sponsors may need visibility. Speakers need a place to be heard. Auction items, displays, or check-in tables need to feel intentional instead of squeezed in.
Union Station’s open layout gives you flexibility to plan the event around the guest experience and the purpose of the gathering.
The space can work well for:
- Fundraisers
- Donor appreciation events
- Sponsor gatherings
- Ticketed events
- Community celebrations
- Board and leadership events
- Volunteer appreciation events
- Awareness events
- Seated programs
- Cocktail-style receptions
- Auctions and raffles
- Mission-driven dinners
Union Station can host up to 125 guests for a seated dinner and 200 guests cocktail-style. The room can be configured in a number of ways, with final capacity based on the layout, furniture plan, and flow of the room.
Menus and bar service built around your event.
Food and bar service are handled by Rosemary & Rye, which helps reduce extra vendor coordination for nonprofit and community events.
Your menu can be shaped around the style of the event. That might mean passed hors d’oeuvres, stations, a seated dinner, a buffet-style meal, coffee service, dessert, or a more casual food setup depending on the format and budget.
Bar service can also be built around the event, from beer and wine to full bar service, signature cocktails, and zero-proof drinks.
For simpler daytime meetings or smaller gatherings, Rosemary & Rye Provisions may also be a good fit for online catering options like breakfast, lunch, platters, salads, boards, sweets, and buffet-style meals.
Practical space for mission-driven events.
The best nonprofit events feel clear, welcoming, and easy for guests to follow. People should know where to check in, where to gather, when the program is starting, and how they can engage with the mission.
Union Station gives you a private room with space for the practical pieces that often matter at nonprofit events: registration, name tags, sponsor signage, auction displays, a stage or speaker area, dining tables, cocktail space, and a built-in bar.
The venue includes the main event space, built-in bar, and upstairs lounge. The rental also includes 200 natural wood Chiavari chairs, 15 sixty-inch round tables, and standard bar glassware to help your budget go further.
Our commitment to community.
Community involvement is a core part of who we are. Through our ROOTS program, which stands for Rosemary & Rye: Outreach & Opportunities To Serve, our team looks for meaningful ways to support the people and organizations doing important work in the Lowcountry.
For qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations, discounted pricing may be available through the ROOTS program. Availability and eligibility are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, so please include your nonprofit status and a little about your organization when you inquire.
Discounted event pricing is one way we may be able to support local organizations, but it is not the only way. Depending on the need, timing, and fit, Rosemary & Rye may also be able to support community partners through silent auction donations, in-kind support, volunteer coordination, or other opportunities to get involved.
If your organization is looking for support beyond hosting an event at Union Station, we still encourage you to reach out. We care deeply about community partnerships, and we are always open to learning more about the work happening around us.
A downtown location that works for your guests and your budget.
Union Station is located at 652-A King Street in downtown Charleston, close to hotels, restaurants, bars, and local businesses.
For guests staying downtown, the venue is easy to work into the rest of the day or evening. For guests driving in, adjacent paid city parking is available next to the venue, giving attendees a convenient parking option in downtown Charleston.
That convenience matters when you are inviting donors, sponsors, board members, volunteers, community partners, and guests from different parts of town. It gives your event a central King Street location without forcing you into a traditional hotel ballroom or a more complicated venue setup.
